Happy International Women's Day, you beautiful, driven souls! This episode is dedicated to you. To making waves, taking seats, and standing up for what you believe in. Because, ladies, the tide is changing. This is only our beginning.
How many times in your life have you been called a bitch? It's a fairly regular occurrence. But tell me what is wrong with standing up for yourself and others, what you believe in, and being that bold voice in the workplace? Nothing, that's what!
One thing's for sure. We need to keep speaking up. Speak up for yourself, for other women, for anyone struggling with diversity. Women reaching gender equality in the workplace is set for over 100 years away! We can do better if we speak up.
I know that it's not always the easiest environment, being a woman in the workplace. You're damned if you do and you're damned if you don't, right? This is called a double-bind – it's similar to a double standard but applicable in the workplace. Let's talk about how we can stop it.
Finally, I'm giving you the low-down on what the rules of our new playbook are, ladies. These are the steps and actions we need to take in order to step up and speak out about gender bias in the workplace.
Define what matters to you. Be committed to diversity and inclusion. And be the voice for those who aren't able or ready to speak for themselves. Help your sisters up. Help other women thrive. We're all in this together!
How are you supporting other women on International Women's Day? Let me know in the comments on the episode page!
